The fashion world has arrived at a point when to say that a particular trend is fashionable is no longer possible. And to speak of trousers – you can, if you wish, choose wide-leg trousers, bell bottoms, or capri, and they can be either knitted, denim, velvet or leather. Currently, practically everything is in fashion.

As a huge trouser enthusiast, who practically lives in them every day, I have a lot to choose from. So I added a small selection of my favourites for you online.

I wear trousers partly because they are more comfortable, but also because I easily get cold. I’ve heard that to be more feminine women should wear skirts and dresses more often, but I have to say, that by wearing trousers I feel no less feminine.  Of course, I also love dresses, but I believe that trousers are one of the most important items of clothing in my daily life. I tend to go for the classics, and for a long time now my favorite trousers have been a pair of slim-fit velvet jeans from 7 for all mankind. I’ve bought them over and over again and altogether this year I’ve ordered four pairs because they were worn out from my constant wearing of them. That’s how much I wear trousers.

I made some inquiries about who first dared to bring the trend of wearing trousers into society. And to my surprise, it was not a woman from Europe or Paris, as I would have thought, but rather a lady, Luisa Capitello, from Puerto Rico, who dared to wear trousers in public in 1919. I must add that for her it ended with a spell in prison. However, the trend to wear trousers had begun, and in the 1920s and 1930s in Europe, trousers were worn by women pilots and became a firm favourite of actresses.

To a warm and comfortable daily life!

Yours sincerely,

The Woman in Trousers ;))
